OUR TEAM

PHYSICIANS

Our physicians are ANESTHESIOLOGISTS.  Anesthesiologists are physicians who have at least three years of additional training in anesthesia after graduating from medical school.  All of our anesthesiologists are board certified in anesthesia or board eligible.  Prior to surgery, anesthesiologists evaluate the patient and select the appropriate anesthetic, specifically for that patient and surgical procedure.  During surgery, anesthesiologists administer and/or specify and supervise the administration of anesthesia to relieve the patient of pain and manage vital life functions, including breathing, heart rate and blood pressure.  Following surgery, the anesthesiologist monitors the patient's immediate recovery period.

CRNAs

Our nurse anesthetists are CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE ANESTHETISTS, referred to as CRNAs.  To become a CRNA, a person must have a degree in nursing science and have at least one to two years of critical care nursing experience.  Once the critical care nursing experience is achieved, one must successfully complete a two year nurse anesthetist training program.
